Hello All,

I have got a job in Myrtle Beach Area and i am coming Late April 2013. I have few questions and i hope somebody would be kind enough to answer it

1) I will be on J1 Visa and thus have 4 months job. I am really interested in experiencing US Culture. Thus, i want to live with a host family. Is that possible? Of course, i will pay for the rent, utilities etc...I am Indian (from India btw)

2) How is the area? I mean the crime rate etc...Which parts should i not visit and stay away from ? Any particular tips to stay away from any trouble?

3) Is there any Indian Food Restaurant Available?

Kind Regards
SRK

srk007,
I personally have had foreign students stay my home in the past and can say the Myrtle Beach area is a fine place to visit and has low crime rate!

I do not know what area you will be working, so if you supply me with this information, I could be of more help to you!

Thank you and take care,

Dan in Myrtle Beach, SC

Dan,

I have actually the same question. Me and my friend are coming to Myrtle Beach this summer. My cousin used to come there for 2 summers and said it is hard to find a place to live.

Are there any families that are willing to rent rooms to foreign students for the summer?

Thank you.

Please refer to classified ads for jobs and places to rent. Try Craigs List, Sun News and you can type "classifieds myrtle beach" in Google.
