We currently live in socastee, my wife works in little river, I work from home and my kids attend Myrtle Beach Primary. As you can see, I'm all over myrtle beach

So, I was looking for your suggestions. Little river isn't bad, but not knowing the cool area's to live, or the schools makes us nervous.
Socastee isn't bad, but if we stay here walking distance to the market commons park is important, Seagate would be good, duplexes are out and the new builds are a little pricey.

I really love broadway, the boardwalk and market commons. I know nothing in NMB/Little River.

Any neighborhoods (rental or otherwise) you suggest?

Gosh, its hard to live in two locations. It seems your wife needs Little River but you want to be by Broadway, the boardwalk and Market Commons.
Since you mentioned being able to walk to Market Commons I would look into the Reserve, those homes have not started but it looks like it is ready to go. That builder has been quite reasonable in all his home pricing.
That area would be a walk to all you seem to love.
However, this choice doesn't get you near Little River...just in a great choice of location.
Can't hurt to call and ask what the pricing will be and be the first one to get the best deal.

I'm surprised to hear your kids go to MB schools and you live in Socastee, that is not the norm, they should be going to the school on 707 next to the high school then Forestbrook Middle.

As for living by the Boardwalk, unless your buying a beachfront condo there are not many places to live that are good for kids, Broadway area is way too busy and some of the areas like off Greens Blvd right by the Palace is a "hood" when 1st built was very popular being by Broadway and Market Commons is a nice area if you can afford it, it's has the best of everything, yet I still would not go to the beach nearby as too many tourists and not enough locals.

Little River is only a half hour drive on 31, so to me not a big deal, there are many nice places to live up there but I prefer being on the south end of MB which puts me closer to so much to do, yet away from the congestion all the time.

There are a number of nice developments in Little River. I live at Lafayette Park but other nice areas include River Hills, Hidden Lakes, Carriage Estates etc.Unfortunately I can't comment on the schools but I think the kids in this area go to North Myrtle Beach schools. Highways 31, 17, 22, 9 and 90 make it really easy to get around. We are 5 miles to the beach at Cherry Grove and about 30 minutes to the airport plus Little River has the added advantage of much less traffic congestion.
