I am interviewing for a position that would be based in and around Myrtle Beach. Going for the second interview next week so things are looking great thus far. My wife and I have a four year old and a baby due in Dec. We are looking for a family friendly, lower cost area in and around MB. One of our main concerns is a good elementary school, and somewhere near a Wal Mart! l We would probably be looking for a 2/3 BR rental for the first year that would be in that area. Any suggestions on paticular schools or neighborhoods? All feedback is greatly appreciated in advance.

Socastee is a nice area. The Forestbrook schools are really good schools. Wal Mart is a ten minute drive. The zoo is just a few minutes away. We have a really nice library and they have some children's programs there.

A sub division of Myrtle Beach. We live the development called The Farm, the new elementary school is right outside our development. Lots of kids in our development.

Good for you that's half the battle when you get a job. If you get in you can get them to hire me

Anyway I agree Carolina Forest is very nice. You have to check it out, lot of nice neighborhoods in there. The only thing is Walmart is about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. I hear they are suppose to building a Walmart near Carolina Forest. I prefer the Walmart at Surfside opposed to the one on Seaboard.

Allow 25 minutes in regular traffic and you'll be fine.
