You picked what will most likely be a perfect time for your trip. Today it's sunny and 82 with a water temp. of 80. Unless you have rain or something, it should be about the same when you are here. Places will still be open and most of the tourists are gone.

Oh, gosh! I really don't know how to answer this one, but there are a lot of long time residents who will most likely get back to you. I have only lived here for 2 years and both of the winters were much colder than usual, or so I hear!

What I can tell you is that being here is much better than where I moved from (NJ) and one year we did get a little bit of snow, but it was all gone by around noon or so.

You won't be wanting to swim in the ocean in Dec. but walking around, etc. has been wonderful in Dec./Jan. for the 2 years I have been here.

Before I moved here, people on this message board told me that I would only need a "hoodie" for the winter months, but I have been really glad that I kept and brought some of my winter coats, boots, etc. I have a high tolerance for cold, but there were definitely days that I was glad to be able to bundle up!

Hope you have a wonderful vacation!

I just got back to upstate ny from myrtle beach. We had a beautiful week last week and this coming up week looks good too(not as high as the mid 80's last week). Super depressing to come back to the usual rain up here

It will be cold, like 40s-50s. You can get into an indoor pool but I wouldn't get into the shore water unless you're hitting the sauna immediately afterward.

We are here on 10/8. It is in the high 70's during the day. It was chilly this morning, went walking and wore long pants and a fleece. I could wear shorts mid-day. Looks like there is the possiblity of rain during the upcoming week, but still mid-70's during the day.
