Sister Sledge, Chic, Diana Ross' "Diana"(with Upside Down and I'm Coming Out) and Change, and I'm 47 and caucasian, what might they think about me?
I've been heavily into the Bernard Edwards/Nile Rodgers disco/rock sound, have been buying any CD's that featured them as producers (Chic's Risque, Sister Sledge's We Are Family, Diana Ross' Diana and Change). All these were recorded in 79 or 80.
I've been blasting them on my computer all week at the job
I wonder what the younger staff think of me as a caucasian 47 year old man listening to this dated stuff

Who cares? I don't care what anyone thinks of what I listen to. On the music site where I go everyday to listen to my music, I'm constantly running across younger people's comments about how awful the 70s music is. LOL Shows how much they know about music. So, see, I just couldn't care less what others think. Your music taste is a personal thing and shouldn't be swayed by what others think. Just be you and enjoy it!
it may 30 years old but it's still sounds fresh. Did you know Chic put out an album called Chic-ism in 1992?. found it in a bargain bin for $3. Nowhere near what they did in the 70's
Have you ever heard the song "Real People" by Chic from 1980? Perfect fusion of disco and rock. Awesome tune!
It's not mainstream, which is usually a blessing for a song, imo. Radio tends to ruin many songs. Do you have Imeem? It's on there.
Nope, I don't have Imeem. I'm listening to Real People (Single Edit) on something called deezer.com LOL, I've never heard of it before, but I'm hoping that I'm listening to the version rlrl was talking about.
Real People reminds me of the urban paranoia theme common to "backstabbers" by the O Jays
It's more interesting then Chic's previous work because in 1980 Chic switched to a tougher dance rock style. It wasn't as catchy but the words and chords were better
