He was a great talent....had a unique guitar style and a distinctive voice.
He wrote and sang The Allman Brothers biggest hit, 'Ramblin' Man" in 1973.
He was a very good guitarist, almost as good as bandmate Duane Allman,
Betts is at #58 on Rolling Stone Magazine list of the best rock guitarists.
Duane gifted him a 1961 Gibson Les Paul/SG....
and he usually played it through a Marshall, model 1987...50 watt plexi....
imo SG and Marshall is the best combo...
Wrote and sang one of my favorites, Blue Sky. Thanks for the wonderful music, Mr. Betts. You join a lot of great guitarists on the other side. Heaven be jammin’ !
