Really big news for the world of Marvel / DC:

Brian Michael Bendis Leaves Marvel for DC Comics

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/07/b...dc-comics.html

Even though Bendis was only listed as a consultant on some of the Marvel flicks, his influence at Marvel has been huge for over a decade.

I'm not surprised by his move. Marvel's comics have been subpar for years, while DC's kicking ass right and left with the Trinity and other characters. The new take on Mister Miracle is pretty awesome, too.

I think Disney's turning Marvel into "House of Skywalker" or something. Half the titles they publish are under the Star Wars banner.

I don't think I've been in a comic book store in a year or more, but I like to binge-read the hardcovers in the library. Been a while since I've done that. Make some recommendations. What should I seek out at the liberry?

Cheapo!

Kidding. Did you ever get around to reading the HC collection of JH Williams' Batwoman miniseries? That's badass. Fantastic art, too.

The Rebirth Wonder Woman's first few issues already got collected, too. Very good.

I'm going to binge DK III: The Master Race soon. I have them all, just haven't had a chance to read them.

The problem with the X-Men in the Marvel umbrella is that there will simply be too many movies and stories to do and when they are done, served the justice the story deserves. I mean resource wise X-Men has the Exacliber, New Mutants, Generation X, X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, X-23, Alpha Flight and any other related book I forgot. Also Fantastic Four. Then think about how Marvel Studios hasn't even scratched the surface with movies and television. Moon Knight, Blade, Angela, Hawkeye (solo), Black Widow (solo), Falcon (solo), Spider Woman (the original wasnt a Spider-Man), She-Hulk, Hercules, Nova (Rider or Johnson), etc.

X-Men ought to be a TV show. Spider-Man too. The problem: Most TV shows don't generally have the budget required to tell those stories correctly.

You know the first thing that would happen were Marvel to get back the X-verse?

Yeah, I fear you're right. Hollywood these days is addicted to spectacle over story.
