These were box office flops but now considered classics: Wizard of Oz, Shawshank Redemption,
Vertigo, Fight Club, Citizen Kane and It's a Wonderful Life.
There were several listed by Unsettomati and FluidFreedom (oeccscelhjhn- I'll have to put those on my
list)
I predict:
Amelie 2001
Black Hawk Down 2001
The Others 2001
Catch Me If You Can 2002
About Schmidt 2002
Dirty Pretty Things 2002
Frida 2002
The Machinist 2004
The Notebook 2004
Everything is Illuminated 2005
Notes on a Scandal 2006
I am Legend 2007
Burn After Reading 2008
The Girl With the Dragoon Tattoo (2008 Swedish) and 2011
The Help 2011
Midnight in Paris 2011
All Is Lost 2013
Philomena 2013
Side Effects 2013
The Grand Budapest Hotel 2014
The Imitation Game 2014
Still Alice 2014
...and there are a few that are coming in November and December

Jurassic Park is another from the 1990's. I'd say Pixar has most of the classics whether Monsters Inc., Incredibles, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3, Inside Out. I'd say Disney Animation had one but not with Frozen but Big Hero 6. With live action you have The Dark Knight, The Watchmen, Spider-Man 1 & 2, Iron Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and that is all I would say because dramas weren't that great IMO.

The concept of saving Matt Damon happens so frequently that the movie stays fresh.

I thought it was 2001...

Oh gotta include Birdman and Whiplash as well. I think those weren't mentioned yet. I think Grand Budapest Hotel was a little too pretentious so I wouldn't call it a classic.
