Eerie is the best for insurance....not many ppl qualify.
I wouldn't argue if you'd said Erie is ONE of the best (which it is), but it's not THE best. It only closely follows Amica. Also, it sells insurance in only 12 states. I'm not saying it's a bad thing... it's just not available everywhere.

Believe me I've spent a lot of time on this research! I was actually surprised that Chubb has quite a few more unhappy customers, even though they cater only to 500K+ homes.
didnt know that.....didnt even know Amica was at the top.
good post
This research cost me quite a bit of headache and I wanna make sure at least it benefits other people as well. I haven't posted everything, but there are consistent good reviews on Amica on many sites. Erie is also a very decent company. If one lives in the serviced states, it's a good choice. Of course, there are complaints even about companies like these... I just hope to be one of the fortunate customers.
Last time I researched the topic I was less paranoid , I guess, and went with Nationwide (still lesser of the evils, but hardly ideal). What surprised me the most is that I hadn't heard about most of the best insurance companies. The claim handling of the "household names" is scary to look at!
Best thing is to go with big names.
Which ever gives you the better quote of course.
Good luck with that! Hope nothing bad happens to your house!
