Tanger Outlets is coming to Morgantown off the new Bill Stewart Exit. It'll be a while before it's built and open so don't get too excited.
WOW did they say when it might break ground? Or where it will be in the development? That will possibly kill the mall off.

I'm more than a bit skeptical about this with the Washington PA location less than an hour away, I just can't see them building in Morgantown. Where would they draw customers from? Is there another source other than Ben Booth, whoever he is?

48 miles/48 minutes to Tanger Outlets in Washington, PA from new exit #153 according to Google maps. I'm skeptical on this one until i hear it from some other sources.

Two Tanger Outlets so close to each other does not make sense. Maybe they do some kind of scaled down strip mall with their name on it.

Could be they will do a smaller one, but are aiming to capture the NCWV market, you would get western MD, Clarksburg and north, Elkins and union town. While its exciting and I'm really hoping for it, I wont be holding my breath until a sign is up or ground is broken.

I sent a message to @TheBenBoothShow trying to get a source and also reached out to Tanger Outlets (although I do not expect to get a response from them). Now we wait...

Hi WVUmatt,
Thanks for your interest, but we have no information about Tanger Outlets development in Morgantown WV.

Isn't the outlets in Washington near the casino Tanger? I couldn't imagine a scenario in where they'd want to duplicate that only 40 mins south. "Premium Outlets" is more likely, however outlets in Morgantown period is unlikely IMO. Morgantown isn't along a "major" traffic corridor like I-70 is to the north. I suppose there are examples of other outlets placed on similar routes, but something about this doesn't add up. I hope that I am wrong because I am always a proponent of economic development!

They already have the NCWV market. Tons of people take the short drive north to Washington. They would just be devaluing their current location by a lot.
