Hello
Heading on a trip east from Toronto to Halifax area. I'm told there is a way to bypass Montreal. Is this a fact, and is it any quicker. We hope to be going through the area during the night to avoid most of the traffic, but either way would like to miss Montreal. Can someone give me some ideas. Thanks
Just after the Que/Ont border (15 miles)you'll see the signs for Autoroute 30 take it all the way past Montreal where it hooks up with Autoroute 20 and on to Quebec City.
Theres a $1,50 toll when you get on the 30 bypass.

Ha! This is a new one on the Montreal forum, no? "Hi. I'd like to completely AVOID Montreal. So, Montreal folks, how do I make that happen so that there's NO POSSIBLE WAY that I'll be in Montreal territory?"
OP, I'm not giving you a hard time. Not at all. I just found it amusing.
very funny...was just asking so I could avoid the traffic!
The traffic actually isn't as bad as you seem to think. After rush hour there's a fairly good chance you could avoid any sort of traffic whatsoever - even if cutting right through the heart of the city.
Traffic jams are as bad if not worse than in T.O, but Toronto's highways are more consistently filled up.
How do you access Autoroute 30 on the way back - In Que City and heading home to Toronto - Can someone email me at trictassone@rogers.com??
That sounded stupid, bu my question is - Is it mrked at Autoroute 30? Someone told me 83 WEST?????
