Where to live in Montreal? might depend on where you are working but generally the English live on the west island the French live on the eastern part of the island the boundary generally being St Laurent blvd..
Places i'd consider living as an English newcomer ? NDG, Montreal West,Lasalle, western Lachine and perhaps Dorval..
Getting to be here legally will be long and sometimes frustrating ordeal with government bureaucracy and paperwork with no guarantees of success , but a trip of a thousand miles starts with the first step eh,the path starts here..=

We are from NH looking to relocate... looking for family friendly community friendly.... for example, where we live we know no neighbors (although we live in a split in an established neighborhoo for 10+ years) I am from the south where your neighbors may drive you nuts but we were always there for each other... any ideas?? I am 42 husband 45 2 kids daughter who is a whiz and is 7 and my son who is 14 and who is a complete jock. (football weightlifting)

Hi,
Not sure if you have moved yet or not but I suggest for whoever who is interested in moving to Montreal to think of where you want to live first and what kind of apartment you want to rent. It could matter a lot. Neighbourhoods are very different in Montreal.
