We're looking to the Monterey Peninsula for another vacation home and would like to know more about Carmel Valley weather. If possible it would be nice to have someone explain play by play how the weather changes as you head inland on Carmel Valley road from Hiway 1. Starting with Carmel Knolls, then Quail Lodge area, then Tierra Grande Drive and up that way, then where Carmel Valley meets Laurels Grade, then Carmel Valley Village and by the airport. Details like fog/overcast, how much in the hotter months the temperature increases as you move out to these different land marks stated above. In the summer months does it seem to be hotter in the flatland of the valley or hotter as you elevate up Tierra Grande Drive and Laurels Grade? Any wind or breezes throughout these areas.
I know it would be best to spend some time in this area during the summer to find out first hand but would like to buy a home prior to next summer. Thanks in advance for the help.

These are good but extremely detailed micro climate questions which would be best asked of a local real estate specialist you can trust. The last part is the hard part, kind of like finding a good car salesman. They're out there. But it will take some looking and possibly references to find. I've heard of realtors making things up about the fog in certain areas to sell. Generally speaking the further from the coast you go the less fog. And this also applies to climbing up out of the valley via Laureles Grade or other similar roads.

We used to swim at the Los Laureles Lodge pool in the summer quite often. It was warm, not windy most times. Los Laureles

I used to do some fishin at Los Padres Dam area...HOT in the summer.

We rode my 1967 BSA 650 Lightning thru the valley to Arroyo Seco...Miller's Lodge, government camp, & the gorge...
