That area is currently transitioning from rural to suburban. If I remember correctly, there’s a lot of subdivisions popping up in that area. It will also have Mobile County’s newest major arterial road with the McFarland realignment to McDonald road just south of the area (construction starting this year). That’s the extent of my knowledge of the Dawes area

That would defeat the purpose of moving closer to family, and it's more congested. We aren't planning to live in Mobile city, but the surrounding area.

I cant find any Top 50 worst list with Mobile on it.(Prichard is listed between 45-10 in some).

But those numbers are subjective anyways.

Honestly, the Pace/Chumuckla area in Florida is worth a look.

For Baldwin County, I recommend looking around Robertsdale or maybe Elberta.

My wife was just asking me about Hurricane damage, which areas see the least damage. I can't find that info anywhere.
We lost a home in Baton Rouge, La to a hurricane.
Is there any difference in frequency and amount of damage for these areas?
Foley, Loxley, Fairhope, Semmes, Theodore, Irvington?

Absolutely none, all of them are too high in elevation and hilly to experience storm surge or flooding. Wind would be your only issue in any of those areas, which will all be equally the same amount of wind

Thanks. We always look at the elevation for potential homes. The wind damage is the biggest concern. How frequently do these areas have roof damage? Every few years? more? less?

Is Spring Valley in decline? We see larger homes in the lower $300s, seems like a good deal, but we have to wonder why.
