Mayorga lost but he didn't do bad, he had Martinez against the cage and had him in a head lock for a while.

Are you sure he did ok? He got choked out in less then 2 minutes.
Results and highlights for Ricardo Mayorga vs. Rene 'Level' Martinez - Bloody Elbow

.Martinez took Mayorga to the ground almost immediately. Mayorga appeared to have Martinez a choke, as he attempted to get a submission but soon let go. Mayorga tried to escape the ground but as he scrambled to his feet Martinez caught him in a guillotine choke, which forced Mayorga to submit almost immediately. The time was 1:45 of round 1.

After being dispatched so quickly, we can only wonder if this will be the last time we see "El Matador" in any form of combat sports. Only time will tell. During his post fight interview (in Spanish), Mayorga was clearly upset and close to tears while addressing his opponent and fans on the microphone.
Not sure where he had his opponent in a headlock against the cage?

I meant, had him against the cage, and then had him on a headlock when he was taken to the ground, he defended good, unlike the guy who fought Randy Couture

Regardless, you call call what he did as being ok or not bad or what ever but the fact remains he got choked out in less then 2 minutes.

I mean if a guy like say Matt Hughes went into a boxing ring and landed 2-3 solid punches and then got knocked out half way thru the 1st round nobody would be saying "he didn't do to bad" they would be saying "he got ktfo in half a round" and run off laughing, talking about how no mma guy can beat a boxer even though Matt Hughes is a washed up fighter who would be fighting out of his element much like mayorga.

it's harder to do that in boxing than in mma, mma is more unpredictable, even the top guy- Anderson Silva lost to something so foolish, something that wouldnt happen to Floyd Mayweather, I'm still waiting for the day when I see a MMA fighter who has at least 30 wins, no loses, and has been on top (champion) for at least 10 years, and remains undefeated when he retires
