Looking to return to Minnesota to raise kids, currently 9 & 10 years old. We are leaving a poor education system and seeking a good place to raise our family with solid public schools. Ideally, a small town, but would consider the area around/Duluth, as well. Which school districts are looking good these days? The kids are into athletics and music, so swimming, hockey and other school sports/band/orchestra would be an added bonus, but not a deal breaker. I've had my eye on Ely, but have lived away from the area for quite some time now. I'd love to be back by the BWCA and xc ski trails. Thanks for your feedback!

Duluth East and Hermantown are the two schools to look at in Duluth. Ely, no clue. I know Silver Bay’s schools suck according to many school ranking sites. They also only have class Monday thru Thursday because of the mine processing. The mine is moving some big operations to Virginia, MN, so town is now going into bust times.
