as a former MN resident now living in utah i'll make a couple comments.

if you read the kare11 story you'll see the name sam brower. it sounds like he's the one who clued in the county. sam is from utah and has been dogging these folks for quite awhile. he wrote the book "prophet's prey" which is about warren jeffs/FLDS. a showtime film was made based on this book.

i'd bet my next pension check jeffs has no intention of complying with permit conditions and will forge ahead and do whatever he wants. disregard for rules/laws, etc. is how they lived for so long, the utah govt. pretty much ignored them. they may not find the community as welcoming in cook county.

The Minnesota DNR are usually pretty proactive when it comes to wetlands. Since they are probably now involved they won't give them an inch. Hopefully.

These groups tend to be comprised of those who style themselves as 'sovereign citizens', which generally means that they get to ignore all laws they consider 'illegitimate' (which invariably are the ones they don't like or that they find inconvenient).
