Who remembers Senator Paul Wellstone? Do you think he would still be Senator if he lived?

Yes I remember him. Hard to say if he would be a senator still. I’ve been to that crash site memorial, it was a sad day when he and the others passed.

I remember him. I liked him because he seemed sincere and upright.

I remember him well. Though I generally agreed with his positions, I was wary of his populism, which I dislike. The plane crash in which he died hit me hard, as I knew people (not the Senator) who were on the aircraft.

I doubt Wellstone would still be a United States Senator. In 1999, he decided not to run for President citing pain that would prevent the necessary campaigning - it was later determined that MS was the cause. He would now be a 74-year-old who had been suffering from chronic pain for decades.

His 1990 election was fascinating from a purely political point of view. That was also the election that featured the late Grunseth resignation and Arne Carlson entering the race as a last-minute replacement, and then winning. Wild times in Minnesota that election cycle.

I still remember the Grunseth radio commercials ripping on him. 2 Live Crew Oh Mr Grunseth. Great marketing I guess as I still have the song in my head 29 yrs later.
