Nope. It's too cold, and I am not a fan of other parts of the midwest but MN seems ok to me.But you could have told me the women were beautiful

Somebody send this to the state secretary of tourism. We need to start an advertising campaign to visit the state. The slogan should be changed to “Come for the lakes, stay for the women and weed.”

Recreational weed isn't even legal in MN, a little behind the curve on that one, probably in five years or so I would guess though. MN coffee, as the traditional folks drink it anyways, is quite watered down. Caribou coffee seems pretty good though, the chain place, haven't had it enough to judge yet though

I love to visit Grand Marais! I currently live in Duluth and love it here too. People are more laid back and friendly. However, when I go to Minneapolis (which is rare) I don't find the same friendliness and warmth. Traffic is awful and people don't seem to be very friendly at all.

My favorite area near Grand Marais is the Gunflint trail and all the hiking trails and BWCA routes that are off of it. My husband and I base a lot of our BWCA trips out of this area. Some memorable trails to hike include the Caribou Rock trail and Magnetic trail. The Gunflint Lodge also has numerous hiking and ski trails available in their "backyard". Many of the restaurants in Grand Marais serve incredibly delicious and local food, especially their fish. And Artists Point is a must go to spot to visit with all it's rock outcroppings and little hidden trails. Unusual bird sightings are common there if you are into bird watching.

It could be legalized soon if Tim Walz is elected governor as he supports legalization of recreational pot. His opponent doesn’t support legalization, unfortunately.

Yeah, that was you. Ranting about Minnesota being a lame flyover state because you'd never been here and didn't know anything about it.

Sshhh, don't let too many people know how great it is. It will get too crowded and ruin it. Don't tell op about the pasties, no not what strippers wear. Just realized correct spelling is pasty.

I think you have me confused with someone else.

Are you okay? You seem a bit wound up and aggressive about something. Did you get my message? Like I said, if you need a shoulder to lean on or just to vent, feel free to contact me.

Be well.

Yea it seemed real off the radar, though it was not summer.

Do Minneapolis people summer there??

While Minneapolis is a larger metro, I think Duluth has them beat as far as world class views and scenery. The borders books was awesome, better than some Libraries!!

While I was out there to help a relative who lost his spouce in a recent death, I still enjoyed my time. You all should be very proud of the society you have there.
