Jesse the Body and Al Franken.

Seriously, Minnesota — what the heck is wrong with you?

His whole speech was a lot of dodging and shifting blame. And the infamous, "if these women feel I have offended them..." Classic!

Poor stupid women who misunderstood his groppings, if only they were smarter--like him. Then they would understand that he deserves to be able to do this without any qualms and there wouldn't be anything wrong with it. Why oh why can't these women just be smart enough to understand?

And of course he shouldn't have to stop what he is doing and resign because the others still get to do it! That's not fair, waa waa, I wanna keep doing it too!

But to say that he couldn't even remember doing these things, wow. It must be so second nature that he has no control and no understanding of this whole situation.

This is not the 70s anymore Al, wake up and smell the coffee, keep your hands and mouth to yourself and own up to your own faults like a grown up. Only then will you be forgiven.

It's too cold and our brains get frozen from time to time.. Bob Dylan left years ago and almost never came back, and he was from the "real up north" part of the state, he got out just in time to prevent permanent long lasting damage.

I never could figure out how Franken ended up being a Senator. He moved here, probably ties here of some kind, bought a house and shortly thereafter ran for senate. He must have even friends in high places to pull that off, I don't understand it.

I just checked Jesse was born in Minneapolis but Al was born in New York so we don't have to claim Al after all, thank goodness. But... I just looked again he moved here when he was 4. Says he went to Blake School, which is a pretty expensive private school so someone had some money or he got a scholarship. Tuition for upper grades is $30,000 a year now, compared to a religious private 15,000, so someone had money or connections.

BTW, if another idiot spouts nonsensical dreck here about the "Mainstream Media" (or "Main Street Media", as mentioned above, nyuck nyuck nyuck), I sincerely hope that they start receiving internet borne space rays that will penetrate their tinfoil hats and cause them turn into skeery leebruls!
But ,I don't think he has a soul as most folks have.or he would not have done it in the first place .

Coincidence that Dayton and whom ever is advising him are announcing today who is filling Frankens seat?
They waited till after the Alabama's election.

If Moore would of won, I bet Franken would of then refused to resign. And that's why in his unapologetic speech he said he would be resigning in a few weeks.
Then he could of played the card, if Moore can be Senator so can I.

At least you can't blame us for our current president.

I wonder if he will retract his resignation.. he did state “going to resign in the coming weeks”. He never gave a specific date.

Four senators urge Franken to reconsider resignation: report | TheHill

Quote:
At least four senators, including two Democrats, have reportedly said that Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) should reconsider his resignation.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Politico that the deluge of Democrats calling for Franken to resign was "the most hypocritical thing" he has "ever seen done to a human being."

"What they did to Al was atrocious, the Democrats," Manchin added. "The most hypocritical thing I've ever seen done to a human being - and then have enough guts to sit on the floor, watch him give his speech and go over and hug him? That's hypocrisy at the highest level I've ever seen in my life. Made me sick."

Politico also spoke with sources familiar with a private conversation between Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Franken in which Leahy told Franken that he regrets calling for him to resign.

It would be controversial and messy to retract his resignation now IMO as Governor Dayton has already chosen Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith as his eventual replacement. No doubt he would then be criticized again for an action that is detrimental to women.

I am no Franken supporter, but I have felt from the start that the facts should be aired in the Senate Ethics Committee and not in the press, and he should resign only if he has done anything that rises to a criminal level. If he chooses to run again in 2020 the voters can make their decision based on the totality of his service and character. It seems like the press and political establishment are eager to replace their judgement for that of the people.
