Dont know but perhaps about 70-80's or there abouts, sometimes cooler, I have seen Grand Marias in the middle of summer being light jacket chilly out, and have seen Ely in the 90's so hot and also very hot in the upper 80's along the shore, so it really varries from day to day.

I'd say average 70 or so maybe 80F, but not for sure

Most typical in the interior during the height of summer are highs in the mid-60s to mid-80s with nights bottoming out in the mid-40s to around 60 F. Nights can cool down dramatically from sunny, warm days.

The immediate North Shore of Lake Superior often stays in the fall-like 60's (and sometimes 50's), even into the peak of local summer.

Wow, don't kid yourself. There's always about a week in late July or early August which is 90s and miserable. When I moved there it was mid July and I nearly died of heat exhaustion for about a month of living in a teeny little 2 story house. Very few homes there bother with air conditioning. Also, that was in a teeny inland town south of Ely, not right on the lake.

But for the rest of the short summertime, it's wonderful. If you don't mind mosquitos.

Low to Mid-80s is typical for northern Minnesota in the summer, including the Arrowhead.

June and maybe the first couple of weeks in July can see cool breezes about mile or two inland from Lake Superior, but Duluth and the rest of the North Shore towns can get just as hot as the Twin Cities in late July and August.

Not on the lake itself.

The first summer I lived in Duluth was 1993. What an eye opener that was...

First, May:
May 1 - High of 37F and snow
May 4 - High of 55F
May 5 - High of 80F [Heckuva swing in 4 days!]
After the 5th, there were four more days with highs in the 70s, none of them after May 14 - the last five days of the month it never climbed out of the 50s.

June:
1 day in all of June in the 80s.
7 days in the 50s.

July:
Again, 1 day in the entire month of July where the temperature hit 80F.
And 1 day - in July! - where the high was in the 50s.

August:
Heat wave! 8 days in the 80s! Twice it got all the way up to 86F!
But 10 days never got out of the 60s.

September:
The first day of the month it was 71F - and it never topped that.
16 days never got out of the 50s, 6 of them never even got out of the 40s.

Just for fun, I checked other years. In 1992, the highest it got was 84F, in both June and August. But July? 75F - the high for the entire month. In 1994, the highest it got all summer was also 84F.

It did get into the 90s in both 1991 and 1995, though, for a few days.

All bets are off when you're down by the shore of the big lake!
