I work with a non-profit that findis host families for exchange students. I need a new family in St Cloud. Here is the info:

Each year Youth For Understanding makes it possible for thousands of international students to live in the United States for an academic year. The 2007 – 2008 school year can be your opportunity to teach an international student about American culture and affect how Americans are portrayed internationally. When you open your home to an international student, you are building a life-long bond with them as you accept them as part of your family. Best of all - you’ll learn about another culture and language— without leaving home.

Haonian, a 15 year old male from China

Yu is very studious and prides himself on getting nearly perfect marks in school. Yu's favorite subject in school is Math. He hopes to one day pursue a career as a lawyer or work in the field of dentistry. However, school isn't the only thing Yu thinks about! He loves to go swimming with his friends and he and his parents enjoying traveling together. He has played basketball for three years and also enjoys ping pong on occasion. In the past Yu has played the saxophone and says he really appreciates music. Described by his teachers as a natural leader who is curious and kind, Yu hopes to have an amazing time in America and Yu hopes to teach his host family Chinese and teach them his customs from Shenyang.

Students come with their own spending money, insurance and are responsible for all clothes, hygiene items, snacks, extracurricular activities and school supplies. They are a member of your family; therefore, help out with the household like doing daily chores, babysitting a couple of hours a week, helping to cook--or whatever responsibilities your own children would have at home. All you have to provide is love and support, 3 meals a day, a way to and from school (the bus is fine), and a place to study. They can also share a room with another sibling of the same sex.
Hosting an international exchange student can be an enriching experience for the entire family that will last a lifetime. By opening your home and heart to a student from overseas, your family will gain a new global perspective, many memories, and - quite possibly - a new family member! When you volunteer to host an exchange student, you agree to:
 • Welcome your new son or daughter as a member of your family.
 • Help your student adapt to your family and to U.S. life and culture.
 • Provide a safe and loving home environment including a bed, a place to study, and three meals a day.
 • Attend orientation events, read the preparation materials, and maintain regular contact with your local volunteer.
 • Understand policies and encourage your student to adhere to those policies.
 • Familiarize your student with your community and its resources.
Thank you for your consideration and help.
