I am a 36 year old single woman looking to relocate to Minneapolis or the surrounding region.Does anyone know of any small houses or apartments for rent that accept pets for $250/month or less in this area? Please let me know.

Christine, I suggest you post on the Minniapolis site to get better insight into that area.

Best of luck in your relocation!

Katie

$250 for the pet or total rent price? Not even the smallest 1 bedroom apartments in rural areas rent for $250/month or less.

I'm in the midst of apartment searching myself, so I've seen a ton of listings lately... and I have also rented rooms from home-owners in the area in the past, so I may have some good tidbits.
Minneapolis Studios in "decent" areas (UM, Uptown, South) will start around $525. 1br at $565 (if lucky).

Try searching roommates.com or http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/roo/ (the roommates wanted area). You may find a nice homeowner who wants to rent out rooms. That's what I did a couple years ago... for 4 months. It was mostly a pleasant, cheap experience, but I couldn't stand living in her house for much longer. House-sharing may be bad for a student, but great for someone getting started in the area. Learn more about the city & save up some money - you'll be apt-hunting for your own place in no time.
