I'm in South Dakota. I enjoy going to Duluth, Lake Superior and the north shores area the most. Beautiful country.
Northwestern Minnesota with all the lakes and forests is cool too, ESPECIALLY if you're into fishing.
Southern Minnesota's land is simply an extension of the same country that I live in (farm country) with the exception of the Mississippi River bluffs on the SE corner. Great people, just not much for scenery.
What's really nice about the areas I touched on is you can visit them taking your car and actually return home still having your car w/o having it carjacked.
