I've lived in Minnesota 71 years, 55 of which have been in Saint Paul. This scourge of horribly loud leaf blowers has only become a problem over the last 10-15 years or so. In the summer, it's a problem every day. Every single day.

To tell someone not to come to Minnesota because a few irresponsible commercial lawn care companies disturb the peace for their own benefit is wrong. The better solution is for the commercial guys to clean up their act with quieter equipment before the city imposes specific leaf blower noise limitations.
Wow, you live in the second most densely populated city in the state and complain because there’s 200 lawns within 200 feet of you where sidewalks and pavement are higher then everywhere else. How do you clean paved sidewalks of lawn debris? How long does it take you sweep it? If it takes me 30 minutes to cut a lawn, of those 30 minutes, I’d spend about 3 to 4 using an air blower, if even that. I don’t understand your hatred of them. Shouldn’t it be towards the lawn mower used for 15 minutes? Time is money for me, work smarter not harder. Sounds like it’s time to move out to sticks where you can’t hear your neighbors.

I’ve been using my air blower to clear sidewalks in Mpls almost every snowfall this season as almost all have been light fluffy snows. I won’t work at night or early morning because of this, making noise is easier on body then shoveling the properties I’ll do in a day.
