One of The Blake School's three campuses in the Twin Cities is closing for two weeks after multiple students tested positive for COVID-19 and then unknowingly exposed more than 100 other students and faculty.

Not surprised.

I was just explaining why they have to close. I understand that DL in public schools hasn’t been great especially for families in your situation.

I know you were, we've just had it. Even when they had the kids going they were sending mine home repeatedly because they committed the shocking crime of coughing a couple times beneath their masks or because they looked across the room at another kid who was supposedly "symptomatic". Then, if one of the kids in one school has to come home, so do the other ones in a different school because they live in the same household. Absolutely ridiculous. They have these school staff wound so tightly with this stuff that they can't even do the jobs they've been trained for. If it was going to be like this (and they damn well knew it would be) they should have never even brought them back. They have no idea what they're doing to these kids emotionally with this disorganized, back and forth mess. Instability breeds instability.

Minnehaha Academy is moving to distance learning on November 30 for grades 6-12. Pre-K through 5th grade will continue to meet in person. The school is closed next week for Thanksgiving and for professional development days for the teachers.

The CDC says that since kids are getting covid from their families and in the community, the safest place for kids is in school.

Yes, but you must remember that Redfield was appointed by Trump, so in this case the science that we're all supposed to be following is suddenly (and conveniently) untrustworthy.
