The epicenter of the violent protest group moved from the 3rd precinct building west down lake street to the 5th precinct building and 3 blocks directly south of the Xxxxx.

Update: the midtown global market home to more than 50 ethnic shops is distroyed

Mn officicial for public safety warns of the weekend bringing a international event to lake at and niccolett.

2,000 protesters gathered after the curfew between 8pm-10pm. Initially there was no police presence. As the crowd grew buildings we broken into and looting began. The post office, wellsfargo bank and resteraunt were broken into and started on fire by professional pyro devises before 10:30. Soon immigrant owned small business buildings were on fire. Attempts were made to put the 35w bridge that is under construction and includes wooden supports on fire but failed.

At 11:45pm 350 riot police came into the area from the south and the crowd dispersed. This was a great concern as the crowd went north and west. The xxxx urban art center and 5 other Xxxxx residential buildings are less then 3 blocks away to the north. The night before businesses along niccolett ave were vandalized and looted.

Fortunately Our staff did not observe crowds on our immediate block.

Mn commissioner for public safety warns of the weekend bringing a international event to lake at and niccolett. 80,000 are projected to assend on Minneapolis today for the national protest.

The situation is volatile. There are different types of protest groups. They are peaceful marches that have even stopped traffick on the freeway. These seem to have local leadership from the black community.

However there is a 2nd group that is violent Antifa anarchist MO. The are armed with professional pyro devises and within minutes can break into heavily fortified buildings (banks and post offices) and set them on fire. It is organized and they know how to quickly mobilize and avoid riot police. And then can create fires Blocks away That they know will burn because first responders can’t get to them. Their goal is to not for racial justice Bit to take advantage of the situation. They have local chapters but thousands have joined them from chapters around the country.

Their goal is to not get photo opps in front of police lines but for distruction, chaos of the city and the civil system. They purposefully create a large disturbance (as they did in burning down 30 buildings and damaging 200 businesses on lake street amd hiawatha wed and Thur night and now lake st and niccolett Friday night) and then fracturing off into cell groups and finding isolated businesses and homes and starting them on fire as they did Friday nights thoughoit south Mpls. They know if they start lots of small distruction and fires that the first responders will not respond.

wed and Thur nights of a war zone that reflected more of a drunken burning man festival with young adults posing for photos in front of the fallen 3rd precinct building. This included a 2nd day of no police presence. The mayor abandoning the 3rd precinct seemed to embolden the Anarchist crowd. Then the mayor was not able to answer “what is the plan.”

the national guard came in Friday at sunrise and locked down the area and a 8pm
Curfew was Issued. The hope was law and order were being Restored, the violent Antifa Protestors Were subdued and the worse was surely over.

Also Charges Friday were filed against the fires officer who took the life of George Floyd in record time (4 days) which is a significant piece of justice is happening. Mind you there is much more that is needed and a culture of racial injustices that still needs to be addressed, however the charges filed have been a significant demand.

Shortly after George Floyd’s fiancé expressed relief as well as stating very clearly that George would have never wanted violence and that he was a peaceful man. She begged for the violence to stop.

The hope was Friday events would usher in a night with less violence and a police presence that would subdue anyone trying distrupt the peace. And the weekend could be about George Floyd, racial justice and healing could begin.

But non of the events mattered to the Antifa anarchist violent protester group. The 3rd precinct area was open again but with a national guard presence. An order to disperse was given after 8pm over the crowd with no response. The crowd got more unruly and the national guard left the area.

They didn’t just happen upon lake st and niccolett. It was a planned event to not just confront the 5th precinct building but to destroy another compound of vulnerable businesses. Including a post office and bank. They are organized, they have staging areas on paremeters with first aide stations, they have professional equipment to break into fortified Building in minutes. They are trained and know exactly what they are doing. This is not just a few radicals of their main group it is their main group.

The chaos also allows other criminal elements to thrive. Cars with no licenses plates are ransacking and looting businesses that are out of the spotlight around mpls because they know no police will come. Groups of at—risk teens are emboldened to create havoc as well. On Friday it was observed that small groups of Samolian teens joined the distruction as well. The governor reported that reports of Drug cartel Have also sent individuals to add to the chaos with a mission to establish more territory while the city is vulnerable.

Two groups were on 35w last night. One was a peaceful protest march for racial injustice. A seperate time the Antifa anarchist violent group stopped semis, opened the trailers and robbed them. They were organized as they were on foot and had enough people to walk away with the contents.

Justice for George Floyd is more of an excuse than a primary motivator. They justify violence against a capitalistic democratic oppressive system. The fact that they Destroyed and burnEd down 200 immigrant owned small Businesses on lake street In the name of a racial injustice does not matter to them. They have no morals as the ends justify a revolutionary means.

I know how that all sounds and that my emotions of seeing a Nieghberhood and people and families I have invested in for 25 years destroyed are high. I share that in detail to let people know
1) these are different than protestors that care about the real issue, that Do the work and humiliation if peaceful protest, that are inspired by Martin Luther king, want to work with leaders for change even if it is slow and have morals.
2) they are significantly not local. They came here for violence and not mourning their own city
3) Done in the name of injustice. This is not standing for the oppressed, it is not moral, this is not Jesus
4) If we don’t Seperate theM From other protesters the message gets lost. Friday south mpls Nieghbor’s were in mourning for their home. Angry at why police did not stop the violence. If we think this is all protests many will not hear the real issues for change.
5) that you know the reality. These are not kids, they are not so full of emotion they cannot control themselves and need to riot. This is evil. This is organized. They will sleep today and plot how they can do more tonight. They have no but in to the civil contract. They will take the oath of least resistance and the more chaos and destruction they cause is they celebrate. They don’t care that charges were filed, that George Floyd’s finance begged for the violence to stop or that they are destroying lives of people of color. If allowed they will burn every business and home to the ground. Mpls has been their trophy and thier selfies with the 3rd precinct in the background bragging rights. How do you stop evil?

Many say they support the protestors.
These are not the peaceful protestors that should be supported

Please pray
- pray for Jesus to come, we need a miracle(s) god presence to get through this weekend.
- pray for George Floyd and racial reconciliation, racial injustice
- south mpls families and children

- xxxxx residents and staff and bulldings. We boarded up the xxxxxx urban art center windows and don’t know what tonight will hold.
- Mn officicial for public safety warns of the weekend bringing a international event to lake at and niccolett.
- 80,000 expected from out of town for protest today

Please pray
Ask everyone you know to pray

That pastor's statement breaks my heart. This could have been stopped in the first 2 days using all means necessary.

Like the poor pastor fears, this could turn into one of the biggest national disasters this country has seen in the last half century.

I'm glad that I don't live there.

I feel terrible for those immigrants whose businesses were destroyed as collateral damage in this whole debacle.

They put in all their efforts and money to become self-sufficient, economically and socially contributing members of their local community, just to be used as political pawns nationally, and expendable casualties locally.

Amen. I’ve prayed more in these past few days than I have in a while. One song that keeps coming to mind is “you can have this whole world but give me Jesus”.
