Greetings, I'm a Chinese-American man who is considering a move to the Twin Cities. How is the dating environment for an American born Asian like myself ? I have no particular racial or cultural preference when it comes to women. If our personalities click, that's great. I was born and raised in San Francisco. I have been a successful entrepreneur and owner of a tech business for almost 20 years. I'm 44 years old, outgoing, fit and confident. I ask this question because some parts of the midwest and southwest USA are not very tolerant. They are clearly more difficult when it comes to dating. Thanks in advance for your reples.

That's a hard question. I mean, my spouse is Asian from SE Asia and there is quite a large SE Asian community in the Twin Cities (Kahmer, Vietnamese, Thai, Hmong). There is also a large Chinese community in and around the U of M (students, graduates, faculty). Among our group of friends (that are Asian), many date and marry other Asians, however a handful are married to White or African American people. I don't think it would be particularly difficult if you live in the core cities. In the suburbs there are many families that are settled down with kids, so aren't looking to date. In short, I don't think intolerance is really an issue you will encounter, but probably the limitations of what is available at your age group might pose somewhat of a challenge. I have friends that are divorced in that age group (Asian and White) that seem to have some tough stretches with finding the right person.
