Ilhan Omar’s District. Does it include upscale neighborhoods?

This is a rather strange question. Why do you ask? The make-up of this and other congressional districts is widely available...have you tried doing a Google search?

I live in the Minnesota 5th. I believe it encompasses the entire city of Minneapolis as well as several inner ring suburbs. The district is urban and includes a wide range of ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, etc. Minneapolis has upscale neighborhoods around the chain of lakes where houses sell in the millions....so yeah, there are upscale neighborhoods in the mix certainly.

OP appears to be interested in "Middle Eastern enclaves" and is perhaps interested in relocating to one but likely won't be back with any more comments, the elevator doors have closed and he got out at the last stop...what in the world is that smell?

My first thought was the OP was trolling, but I’ll try to assume positive intent.

Yes, it includes a chunk of Edina, as well as the East Isles/Kenwood areas of Minneapolis. Southwest and downtown Minneapolis are probably the wealthiest parts of the Twin Cities.

Just the city of Minneapolis has wealthy and poor neighborhoods. The district includes some 1st ring suburbs including an expensive part of Edina (north of 62, east of 100). The district includes nice neighborhoods in SLP, Golden Valley, etc.

I feel so bad for these poor people.

According to the Census Bureau, of the nearly 300,000 households in MN-5 over 22,000 of them have an income exceeding $200,000 per year. That's upscale, no?
https://www.census.gov/mycd/?st=27&cd=05

Obviously, these households are not randomly distributed throughout the district. You can cross-reference this interactive map of median incomes in Minnesota with a map of MN-5 to find the upscale areas.
https://www.minnpost.com/data/2013/1...oss-minnesota/

Note:
MN-5 does have the lowest total median income of the metro-area Congressional districts. The outstate MN-7 and MN-8 districts rank lower, no surprise, and that MN-3 ranks first in the state is no surprise, either.

Proud constituent in the 5th that’s very happy with our congressional leader- Congresswoman Omar has long been one of my favorite local politicians.

It's fascinating how two people can look at a person like "Ilhan" and come to such radically different conclusions regarding her.
