Like - Everything but the winters. Perfect sized city with the right amenities, great mix of people and beautiful of course.
Hate - Long cold dreary miserable bone-chilling nerve-numbing never-ending winters

The weather! The biting wind and cold that gets into your bones and doesn't leave for the next 3-4 months.

I love the Summers! Bring on the heat and humidity and thunderstorms (you can keep the tornadoes) and festivals.

Hate: the staggering amount of surface parking lots in and near downtown.

Like:the emphasis on art & culture in the area.

Nearly 8 months where there is no leaves on the trees.

Get out of the cities and you have corn fields for as far as the eye can see. BORING!

I hate that there is so much distain for how Minnesota used to be and so much political correctness to hide the truth. The mix of people living there now is not as high quality as it used to be.

If you go to the warehouse district, there is an even more staggering amount of ramp space. Let's face it, metro residents love bringing their cars downtown. But a lot of transit service really sucks, so I can't really blame them. People are clueless about riding transit, and the transit authority is listless about educating its users. So people who make the experiment with leaving their cars must feel extreme frustration with the low service level of our transit system. And they want to expand it without remedying the fundamental problems. Talk about heads in the sand! I have keen feelings about it because I use transit so much. But it tests me all the time.

Everyone is from some other metro area and since they're very highly educated, they tend to be extremely arrogant and full of themselves. Minneapolis is home to so many Fortune 500 companies, so you get all these young executives thinking they're the greatest thing to leave their Ivy League Universities; once they get to Minneapolis they have to have a brand new BMW every two years, you'll hear about their downtown or Warehouse loft that cost $2 million, their $1000 sunglasses...yep - we get it - you're successful. There's nothing wrong with that, but the fact that so many of these people from all these other areas converge onto Minneapolis is really frustrating if you want to meet someone who isn't so type-A perfectionist or has to uphold these fake appearances in order to look like they're 'somebody'. I'm sure this is the case in many cities, but since the Twin Cities has so many successful corporations, they definitely get these 'junior executives' in higher numbers than other places.
