I don't know which is best, but Brown College is one to avoid in my opinion.

Probably your local community college.

Are you looking for a few classes, a trade school degree, or something more involved like a Computer Science or CSEE degree?

The top three schools back in the 80's in the state were arguably the University of Minnesota, Mankato State, and St. Cloud State. I earned my BSCS at Mankato State, and it has served me very well.

If you're just interested in learning the tools of the trade without the heavy background, I'm sure there are a lot of community colleges that offer various programs as cgy1 said.

Depends on what you want. University of Minnesota has the best name recognition outside of the state and country (if, say, you wanted to try to work internationally) and has the prestige factor. If you just want to learn how to it, I also agree that the community colleges are likely a good bet, as what you'd presumably want is to be able to take the courses/gain the experience at the lowest price possible. My husband actually did go to Brown years ago before it was a "college", but I assume that they charge more money, especially if getting a full degree, than you really need to pay. I'd exhaust all other options before looking at the for-profit schools.

I know folks who took classes at Normandale and seemed happy with them.
