Hi Guys
I am a University of Minnesota medical resident
I rotate at work mainly between three sites HCMC,Fairview Hospital and the VA Hospital.
I am looking for a neigbourhood that provides a convenient commute and is close enough to all three sites.
I have no children and am aiming at paying less than 900 a month for a 1 bedroom.
Thanks in advance

Downtown Minneapolis would be my choice. Highland park and Golden Valley have some nice more residential areas as well.

There is a newer apartment complex right on the river on Highway 5 in St. Paul, just as you cross over from Bloomington to St. Paul called the Pointe at River Crossing (I think). They would be very convenient to all of those places (assuming you mean Fairview Riverside Hospital). There are some other complexes in that area that would be fine too.

I live in downtown minneapolis now right next to Elliot park and can walk to HCMC but really dont like the area or the apartment complex(east village).
I want a place with a reasonable commute in a pleasant neighbourhood with walkable access to shops, coffee shops and walking/biking trails.
I am considering Edina and lowertown in St Paul in addition to the nieghbourhoods u mentioned but am worried about the commute in the morning.
To answer the question I was referring to Fairview Medical Center on the main campus and not Riverside
Thanks for the ideas

Consider: Seward, Prospect Park or Longfellow (Minneapolis), or South St Anthony Park, Merriam Park or Highland Park, St Paul. They'd all meet your criteria and would be better than Edina or Lowertown in terms of ease of commuting.

I would live in Highland Park then. I use to work at the U and took East river road there from Cretin and Randolph, bypassing freeways and then I also had nursing clinicals at the V.A. and I took the Ford Parkway bridge there. It was very quick. Nice area as well.
