Well of course I'd have to do some major research to give you a realistic answer... BUT... Pretending I could have a similar life situation anywhere I went....

In-state: Probably downtown Mpls. I've been in the 'burbs forever, it'd be a nice change of pace. I'm inlclined to say on a lake, but I need a Target to be within a few minutes of me.

Out-state: In a perfect world, the Gulf side of Mexico! Alas, the hubby won't learn Spanish and the crime freaks me out. We are currenlty looking at St. Petersburg, FLorida. Don't know if we'll pull the trigger or not; we have an exploratory trip planned for November. If we go, it'll only be for a few years and we'll come back home to start a family.

The crime rate in St. Petersburg, Florida is probably higher than many places in Mexico once you get away from the border cities.

Right now, that is probably true. The bad thing is that the drug traffickers seem to be developing a presence in other parts of the country. They are starting to take over in areas around Mexico City, which makes me nervous.

In Minnesota - Duluth. I grew up there and loved it. If I can't have a large city like Minneapolis, I at least want amenities...and gorgeous Lake Superior!

Out of Minnesota - This one is a bit tricky. There are so many places, but a coastal city like NYC or San Francisco would be really cool. I'm currently out of the country and just visited London. If I could find an affordable place (haha...as if that happens!), I could definitely see it being my style.
