I'm a native Chinese who just graduated from the U of M, and found a job at vadnais heights/little canada. I'm looking to living with someone who is very interested in Chinese language and culture. Because I like teaching mandarin, and we can also have lots of things to talk about.

I posted this question in the forum of Minnesota, and someone suggest me post it in Mpls-St paul instead.

Actually, I do got some good suggestions from that forum like contacting schools which have Chinese immersion program. I was wondering if anyone knows this kind of program in the north of Mpls or St paul?

Please let me know if you have other suggestions or know someone who would be interested, I'll appreciate it.

Thank you!

I have the guy for you! I have a Chinese friend with tons of connections in the city, but what I think would fit you best is another friend I have who LOVES China and Chinese culture and speaks Mandarin very (pretty) well. I can ask if he's looking for a roommate and get back to you if you'd like?

There is a Mandarin Immersion program in St. Paul, at Benjamin E. Mays Elementary. There is only one class (kindergarten) right now but they are adding one grade level each year.

However, it might be awkward to approach a family with young children to ask about living together - what about trying to connect with college students who study Chinese? I know they teach Mandarin at the U of MN Twin Cities campus and Macalester College, and there are likely other colleges and universities in the area with Chinese programs.

Good luck!
