I worked for a temp service that I was hi lo driver for. I was promised a job in my field but was given a job that payed less and was not what I was certified for. My manager told me when a position became available she would let me know. 7 months passed and I was still picking up trash for $8 I went back to herand was told i would have to leave or be let go from my current job assignment. when I gave my two weeks notice for the job assignment I went back to the temp service and was told I was now locked out the system and could no longer workfor them. iI am now being denied unemployment benefits due to the company saying I quit the temp service! mind u 3 years ago I left an assignment and was given a new one with no problems. I have rework hours but it is $15 less than the $2376 they are asking and have been denied what should I do??? Please help

File an appeal. If they deny it again, protest it and it may be a hearing.

sorry anytime you quit any job for any reason you will not qualify for unemployment...also a temp service cannot guarantee that you will he hired. Even the company you work for can't guarantee you a job, they probably told you that so you can continue to work for such a low wage. They should not have led you to believe that.

If I understand you correctly, you left a job before being (re-)hired at the new (former) one. That's a no-no. Always have the new job assured before quitting the current one.

Yeah - temp services can be like that. Sometimes, they tell you one thing and something else turns out to be the truth. I've had that happen to me a few times. (Especially with lower paying assignments).

A lot of time it has to do with corporate policy, not your individual situation.

And being a contractor means you are "at-will" and don't have much recourse.

It's really frustrating.

However, like the poster said above, you can't quit your job and qualify for unemployment. You have to be "let go" or "downsized".
