LOL!

Gentrification of those areas is happening because the places at risk for flooding are insanely expensive. In other words, nobody with money is worried about sea-level rise.

I think bottom line, it won't be a zero-sum game as all the cities in the South rise up to create a new superregion similar to the Boston-Washington corridor.
FL already has it's own corridor with Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville anchoring it. Atlanta may join with a city like Nashville and Birmingham to create it's own corridor while NC has theirs with Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh-Durham. In theory, you'll already have three super regions in the South.

One would've thought that because of FIFA relocating some employees to Miami that there was a chance that Miami would host the final game, but no, it goes to Arlington instead. We'll see how this pans out.

I thought Florida doesn't want more immigrants. Isn't that a thing here?

Probably came down to seat capacity and revenues from that….90,000+ fannies in Dallas (over 100,000 with standing room) v 65,000 in Miami. Size matters.

I was thinking this too, but with all the momentum Miami has seen with soccer in the past couple months, at least to me, having the final here would be a no brainer.

Bronze finals for Miami, which hey... still pretty good.

Huge win for NYC/NJ on hosting the finals though, happy for them.

I figured with FIFA opening up a branch in Miami, that Miami would've at least has the finals game, but getting the bronze game is a nice consolation. I actually thought that the 1994 World Cup Finals was held in the Meadowlands, but it was actually held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. NY/NJ definitely deserves this event!!!
