Curious as to why many Miami restaurants feel the need to ask for my name and phone number when I show up without a reservation and there is no wait. What do they do with that information? I’ve started telling them my name is Charles Manson and 9/10 have no clue who he was or that’s not my name. Don’t recall being asked or asked as often in other cities. I don’t ask the waiter or owner for their full name or number.

Thanks…a bit intrusive and if I’m a regular at a restaurant that offers a discount to frequent diners I’m not bashful about reminding my server before he brings me the bill.
