IS this a crazy commute to go from Coral Gables to just south of Cooper City on Stirling Rd (west of University)? Wondering if it is going in the opposite direction of traffic. Mapquest states 25 miles but I haven't a clue regarding the time factor....
Cheers

If you're a 9-5er you'd be going against traffic heading south but then everyone else will be headed east just like you once you get into Dade. And then when you get off everyone is headed west but you'll be in the clear once you start going north towards Broward.

It will be horrible going from Coral Gables to the expressway, but as mentioned you will be going against the prevailing traffic most times. The palmetto-I-75 varies from OK to bad. I-75 is usually a smooth ride. However, I would not do it. Why not just live in Broward? If you can afford Coral Gables you can afford Broward.

Thanks- still new here and am unsure if I understand what you've said.
I will be driving north to just south of Cooper City in the morning and then coming home to Coral Gables area in the late afternoon.
Thanks again

I guess we posted at same time. Hubby works around here and this is a "just came up opportunity for me to work there". If it isn't worth it I wouldn't bother. Haven't even tried the drive yet. Thanks

Do you already live in the Gables or have you not made the move yet. If not, why not live in Cooper City and skip the commute? It's not as charming as the gables but is nice in an "anywhere USA" sort of way.
