Is this area any good? People say its super ghetto but honestly i have friends who live in Hialeah west of the palmetto (826) and the area looks maintained i dont really see any "ghetto" in it. Rent isnt so cheap either.

Hialeah is crappy but for different reasons than, say, Overtown.

Yeah, I'd say that the bad areas in angel's maps are more industrial and grimy than actual ghetto.

The decent parts of Hialeah aren't even that bad. People on these forums act like it's a warzone

It's not that Hialeah is a war zone. The fact of the matter is it's a bland, boring, ugly, lower/middle class area with nothing really to offer... There's no amazing shops or malls, no amazing night life, no amazing parks and recreation.... it's just a massive swath of nothingness.... cheap apartments, kind of crap houses and random spanish stores everywhere... it's a completely uninteresting, congested, rather ugly area...

In fact, there's many places in Miami that are a better option. ie. Miami Lakes, Kendall, Brickell, Gables, Coconut Grove, Aventura, etc.

You need your passport to enter lol. All jokes aside, Vicky's bakery is the bomb! There are some bad areas in Hialeah but if you go like Hialeah near I-75 it is nice.

I've seen Wesfield Mall parking lots totally flood of cars on Hollydays (former of Westland Mall) since most new brands stores are incredible cheaper than other malls as it were like Internal. mall or others. This mall is making an effort to beautify the city and giving a status that didn't have in the past. Also I've seen interesting restaurants and stores there that I haven't seen it before.

Hialeah is just some lower/middle class city that looks dumpy and underdeveloped in many areas. But some areas will be better maintained than others.

Hialeah gardens specifically new developments by i75 are pretty good, honestly they should have dropped the Hialeah part of the name in that area and renamed it.
