Is black hair any different? I would think any good barber/salon would know what to do. Coral Gables is loaded with expensive salons that would just love to take your money to take care of your hair.

yes, black hair is different. Our hair texture is far different. Even people of European decent have different hair textures. Look at a Italians hair as opposed to a Germans etc. My friend used to own a unisex hair salon, he explained this all to me but I forget the intricate details. I have dread locks and wouldn't let a person touch my hair who doesn't know how to do them.

You absolutely want to try
CONCEPTO hair and body
62 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 305-444-2374

It's a dominican own and operated salon; you won't regret it.

miami gardens has the best salons that cater to black hair...

Just because liberty city has blacks, dont let these people tell you that. Miami Gardens are more clean and professional, and it cater's to your hair type.

With that said, any recommendations for professional, quality black salons will be GREATLY appreciated! The prices, provided they are in accordance with the quality of service, are no issue.

P.S. I do not patronize basement or kitchen salons.
Hi There- I just moved to midtown miami from Atlanta and in desperate need of a quality salon- not dominican as they will put it out. Did you find one?

I have that 'in between' hair. Curly when wet but flat irons straight without problems. Just put a mild relaxer in it over the summer (first time in 5 years!) so that I can workout without the frizz when I sweat. I've heard, from my old stylists, that the dominican technique of the roll brush will break my hair because it's 'fine'. What experience have you had? My hair is a mess and breaking because i'm wetting it and pulling it back and may need a touch up. Please help!

Yes, black hair is different. FYI. It takes heat treatments and color treatments differently. Different strength of "straightening" chemicals and it reacts to water much differently than Euro/Asian hair. That is why it is important to find someone who specializes.
