Does anyone remember a soft drink called Cloverdale? I believe it may have been bottled in either Hagerstown or Frederick. I used to drink it when ever I visited my Grandmother in Scotland, PA.

I think it was in Baltimore.

I remember those. They came in green bottles. Don't remember the taste, though.

Oh god yes I remember them. They made me vomit. I think they went out of business. And they were bottled in Baltimore, MD.

I found a bottle in the woods with "Cloverdale" on it. Its about a 9 once bottle with this on the bottomof it:

G-1739

Can anyone tell me more? I know it was bottled in Baltimore as it says that on the bottle. Has it any value?

I remember signs painted on sides of barns along US40 that said "Cloverdale" obviously advertising the drink. It's just another local brand that went away as the big companies advertised and took over market share. It was carried in most neighborhood stores in Frederick and Washington counties, as I remember things. I do not think there is much collector's value in the bottles. I still find them in barns, outbuildings, etc.

I grew up in the 1950's in south central PA, not far from Hagerstown, MD. I remember the Cloverdale drinks quite well. My favorites were their root beer and ginger ale. Just about all of the Mom & Pop corner grocery stores sold Cloverdale drinks. Sorry, though -- I have no idea where it was made and bottled.

If the mark is molded into the bottle the G is probably the bottle maker's ID and the number is the mold number.

Crap, I just noticed thread is nine years old.

I remember buying it at a family-owned, corner grocery on Scotland Avenue in Chambersburg, near the house where several of my aunts lived. I grew up in Waynesboro, lived there 1946-1968.
