A family member is relocating to Puxatent Maryland due to a work commitment. Looking for desirable areas for living with rent no more than $1300 per month. Looking for safe areas and Want to be somewhat close to everything without being in bad areas.

That's too bad.

The valuable website https://somd.org is mostly about St. Mary's County which includes NAS Patuxent River. ("Pax River" for short). The left side of their homepage has a column with many categories including realty and relocation resources, churches, businesses, local govt., and community events.
