I was planning to book a hotel near ocean city boardwalk for the aero show next month. The prices are sky rocketing especially at this time. I was thinking if there are hotels 10 miles from boardwalk who could possibly give better rates. Any thoughts?

After reading this I was curious, so I looked and was able to find mid-week motels that still had availability, I didn't bother with weekends.

It's just you.
They had let things slip a few years ago and had an outbreak of problems (assaults, stabbings, large group fights, impeding walkers on the Boardwalk, things like that) so there was a redirection and more enforcement.
Now, will that continue in the current political climate? Who knows.

Not sure how long your staying there, but I did this to save a ton of money.. Got my mothers minivan, took out two rows of back seats.. put a twin mattress in there. Sheets pillows. etc.. If your a guy, have a nice gatorade bottle to pee in while inside the van. Park in some random parking lot that wont tow you for being in it. It gets hot during the day , so just be out doing all your fun, sleep at night when sun goes down. Do not sleep with vehicle on and the AC.. carbon monoxide could kill you.
Not everyone can do this kind of thing, but to save money.. Id do it. Besides..motels expensive for a room that you barely spend any time in. Need to shower.. No problem, there are showers on the sides of many of the buildings there to wash sand off of you. Body wash and rinse
EVen if you dont have a van, put seat all way back, lay back support back all the way.. and snooze.. save that money
