Hey All,
Recently, BGE came out and installed smart meters, and I was curious if anyone has had any issues with it. About two weeks ago, we got our bill that contained readings for the old meter, as well as the new meter. This is what we saw on our new bill:

For reference:
- 30 yr old, low-rise condo building; 1BED/1BATH @ 1000sqft on 2nd Floor
- All Electric (SEER-15 HeatPump/Air Handler System)

Meter Reading
OLD = Current (88110) - Previous (87552) = 558 kWh used
NEW = Current (339) - Previous (87552) = 12787 kWh used <== Math is incorrect (Previous should be '0'.)
TOTAL USED: 13345 kWh
End Results: $1800 Electric Bill!!!!

Previous Bills:
- July: $97 - 757kWh
- June: $105 - 941kWh
- May: $85 - 667kWh

We got billed for more energy than we use in a year. We contacted BGE, who has assigned us a case number. Just curious if this has happened to anyone else with the recent swap?

It's just a little "woopsie" on the part of BGE billing software. They will fix it.

I sure hope for the OP that they will fix it.

I have the water company coming out next week to install a smart meter, hope there are no problems with that one.

Sorry I just noticed how old this thread was.
