Howdy, A medium-sized Alligator was recently seen just across the street from Bossier City's Airline High school!

I've been to Louisiana 5 times in my life. Saw alligators every visit.

Spent the first 12 years of my life in Florida, on the Space Coast, and saw an alligator ONCE in the wild. lol

Hmm my Labrador dog and I are coming to Arnaudville for the winter and our cabin is right beside the Teche. Do you think I should keep him away from the water there? Because he's going to want to jump in.

What if you kayak over top very close to gator and it comes up for air?

I think the gators prefer fresh water, and not salt water so stay away from the coast.

Alligators are found in brackish as well as saltwater - esp in Florida, Mexico and Belize

Florida has saltwater crocs too!

This is a saltwater boat ramp, 8-10 ft Croc hangs around by the filet table:

Only a matter of time before they arrive in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas then.

There are about 500 of them in the cooling canals of Homestead's Turkey Point nuc station. Saw a pair in Flamingo mating - the male was about 3.5m and female 2.5m, all the while the Ranger was explaining that there weren't any large ones around!
