I am planning to attend grad school at CSU-LA in a few years. I'm wondering what it is like living near the school and what are the best neighborhoods for a student income (cheap)? Any suggestions are appreciated. I'm new to CA and still figuring out areas. Thanks!

The cities of Alhambra and Monterey Park are adjacent to Cal State LA and are affordable, pretty safe and has convenient access to amenities. The demographics are heavily Asian and Latino with the expected great eateries. If you need more activities, Pasadena is nearby to the north and DTLA is due west. Good luck.
