Yes. UC on track to enroll 2,500 more Californians this fall, but admission offers decline from last year's near-historic gains - LA Times

It looks like OP might have changed her/his mind. We scared her/him away. No more postings, at least not yet. OP good luck wherever you end up continuing your education but I doubt it will be in CA.

I would recommend the OP to attend college in Ohio, graduate from college/university and then move out to L.A. area.

Cost-of-living in L.A. is crazy expensive, and factor in student loans, you will have a terribly large student debt after graduation.

At the same time, I know those from the Midwest who think that L.A. is nice and glamorous. But once they attend college/university here, they realize that California, L.A. in particular, is not the right place to be.

I agree here, it's so crowded here and a friend's daughter who live here -- well she attended Puget Sound Univ in WA and stayed up there a year after graduation and now back living down here in So. Cal.

Prices of housing and crowds are just out of reality here.

It's becoming even more difficult to get into a Cal State school.

About 31,000 fully qualified students were turned away from California State University for the fall term because their desired school was at capacity, administrators told trustees during a meeting Tuesday as they discussed budget challenges:
