I live in Kings Park and need to have a cap put on my chimney. Can anyone please recommend someone reliable and not to much $$$. Also, I know this might sound naive but if I don't have a wood burning fireplace, is it necessary to still get my chimney cleaned out?

Yes, on the cleaning. Particularly if your furnance is oil-burning, the smoke and ash by-product of oil contains sulfuric acid, which over time will eat away at the lining of your chimney and will cause serious ($$$$) damage.

I actually have gas for everything in my home. Would I still need to get the chimney cleaned for this? I don't think my home ever had oil. Thanks.

Don't overtighten those 4 screws and crack your liner? If you currently do not have a cap, you may have other issues with your chimney.

It still should be cleaned, at least once, from top to bottom. Natural gas that is burned leaves behind hydrochloric acid as it's by-product, which is weaker in strength than sulfuric acid left by oil.
