I purchased a drone, Dji mini 4 . It should be under 250gram limit.
Do I still have to register it and get 107 permit?

I plan to use it for fun, but also for side jobs.

Thanks

Permit schmermit. Just use it.
I wouldn’t even think twice about it, personally.

Depending where on the island you live, I would not use it near airports (JFK, Republic, MacArthur, Brookhaven, etc).

If only recreational use, no registration needed under 250g.

Any commercial use and you need registration and Part 107.

The other person can do what he wants. it is perfectly legal to own the type of drone he has. If you don't like it mind your own business!

all i can say is more of us kids were hurt on monkey bars , falling out of trees and our scooters made out of roller skates and milk crates then any one has by a drone , running with scissors or drinking out of a garden hose and we all survived

He bought a good DJI drone so it will automatically refuse to fly in protected airport space.

Well I got my DJI 4 and I love. Lots to learn.
Edit can be made on iPads, but I got editing software Davinci which mimics Premiere. Lots to learn and I’m looking forward to doing it with my daughter who is also making edits on her iPad. She is 11 and got the hang of flying it very quickly.

Registered it with Faa for $5
How does 107 work? Do I need to apply every time I intend to use it somewhere? Out of state or different parks?

I’m not terribly worried because I am under 250gm, but figured I’d ask just in case.
