No. Never trust real estate sites. Sometimes they are accurate but many times they are not.
Always confirm tax info with one of the gov sites.

Do not use Zillow or any RE site.

This is the county site it’s the only accurate place. It will show exemptions like senior, etc that you won’t get.

Thank you. Haven’t see any egregious examples so far. We’re planning on anything up to $20K anyway.

Everything is relative. We can pay $10K in NYC get 1/4 of the yard space, dilapidated private and public infrastructure, inferior schools with zero extracurriculars, the dregs of society within a mile even if you live in the best neighborhoods, black supremacists telling you you're the worst but taking your tax dollars, etc.

After all of the above, an extra $10K seems like a small price to pay to get back into what resembles civilization, especially for the sake of one's children.

You won’t pay city tax and car ins is cheaper. If your looking at eastern Nassau like syosset or Plainview area mine as well just go to Suffolk for the way lower taxes.

We just filed the basic STAR credit on the NY state website as a new homeowner whom recently purchased a single family residence in Suffolk County, and wonder how this program works and how much would we get?

Usually a 1k-1100 ish depending on district. As long as your under the income limit. And assuming your not older (enhanced star). Usually you get a check mailed. Some get it a tax credit applied to taxes.

It’s a sign up once and forget it program. It’s automatic.

You will get a check or direct deposit in oct-Jan. There is a cutoff for getting a check this year, I think it was march 1.

Darn it lol. We closed in last month, and just found out about the STAR program so we filed it yesterday.
